Make An Impact
How to Establish or Give to a Scholarship at Santa Ana College:
The type of support you choose can be designed to fit your intentions, financial resources, and funding timetable. Scholarship donations may be designated to assist a student pursuing a specific academic major, or those requiring financial aid. Scholarship impact will be outlined in a donor’s gift agreement. There are multiple ways you can choose from to make an impact. You may:
Give towards an established Scholarship Account that fits your award intentions and goals (Endowed or Non-Endowed).
Establish a NEW Scholarship Account (Endowed or Non-Endowed)
Scholarships can be Established in Several Ways:
-
An annual scholarship gift provides support to students for one academic year and makes an immediate impact on students. Donors can renew scholarship support every year or make a gift to cover several years.
Donors may invest in an established scholarship account or create your own.
Annual student support
Gifts of any amount can be made in support of an established annual college, department or program scholarship.
Donors can establish a named current use scholarship with pledge payments over a period of 3 years.
Minimum gift requirements to establish named current use, non-endowed scholarships: $5,000/year with a 3-year commitment.
For a full menu of available established scholarships which meet your criteria and scholarship goal, please contact our Scholarship Coordinator, Xochitl Swenson, at Swenson_Xochitl@sac.edu.
-
Endowed scholarships provide a consistent flow of support to students and allow the college to plan for the future. In a permanent scholarship, the original asset is held in perpetuity and only a portion of the earnings from the fund is distributed annually.
Donors may invest in an established endowed scholarship or create your own. Many times donors ultimately create an endowment to ensure that their scholarship is perpetuated.
Donors can establish an endowed scholarship through a gift made during their lifetime, a planned gift or both.
Currently, the spending allocation is 5 percent annually.
Minimum gift amount to establish college, department and program scholarship endowments: $50,000
To learn more about endowments or to establish an endowed scholarship, please contact our Development Coordinator, Kristin Ellsworth, at ellsworth_kristin@sac.edu.
